Antalya, Kaleici (Old City)


Antalya, where sun, sea, history and nature combine magically, has the Mediterranean Sea's cleanest and most beautiful beaches. Antalya's cpastline is 630 kilometers long and there are numerous ancient cities, harbors, tombs, lacy bays, beaches, pure green woods and streams along its length.
Of the ancient regions, Antalya covers the west part of Kilikia, the south-east end of Pamphylia, and easters Lycia. The region is one of the oldest known inhabited areas of Turkey, Kale town of Antalya City is where Santa Claus (Father Christmas) lived. The feature makes the town an important center for religious tourism. Other important
sites are: Olympus, Phaselis, Termessos, Perge, Aspendos, and Side. The Kaleici quarter attracts attention with its traditional architecture. Antalya has modern accommodation for travelers and tourists and is Turkey's most important tourism center. The city also hosts numerous cultural activities.
