Akaroa, New Zealand

Akaroa was first settled by Europeans in the 1840's. The Akaroa Lighthouse was originally sited on the Akaroa Heads and moved to its present site in 1980. Daly's Wharf, site of one of the earliest wharves in Akaroa.

These amazing boulderes can be seen scattered along the Moeraki Beach, and protruding from nearby cliffs.  They were formed beneath the sea over 60 million years ago.
